Another great option if you are interested in Hercules Beetles and other species of the Dynastes family. They are amongst the largest of the rhinoceros beetles. D. santanas is a smaller species of dynastes but males are still capable of achieving 12cm in size. 
Larvae are 1st - 2nd Instars 
Egg to adult takes 20 - 24 months
Larvae feed on decayed oak/beech or alternatively flake soil is best for achieving large specimens.
This species prefers it a bit cooler so temperatre should be 18 - 22 degrees c
