Frequently Asked Questions
You don’t have a species I was really hoping for, can you source it for me?
The Insect Farm is constantly breeding and sourcing new and impressive species. So If you don’t see something on our list that you would like to, please contact us and we will try our best to provide.
What is the best way to care for my Invertebrate?
When you buy from us at one of the shows we are attending, we will offer you a care sheet at the time. These care sheet can also be found on the website. We welcome any of your husbandry questions to help you care and even breed from any animal you buy from us.
Where do you source your Invertebrates?
The majority of our livestock is captive bred by us. Livestock that is imported, is done so, in accordance with EU legislation. All imports from outside the EU are health checked at a Border Inspection Post to ensure packaging meets IATA (International Air Transport Association) standards. Each parcel is issued with a common veterinary entry certificate (CVED). A copy of which can be produced on request.
Why can’t I buy straight from your website?
We currently only trade at Invertebrate shows within the UK. Our team is made up of full time Lepidopterists working at the UK’s largest Butterfly Farm. We therefore work as ‘The Insect Farm’ out of office times. We will strive to respond to all message within 3 working days.
Do you know the age of all your invertebrates?
We breed the majority of our animals, so if you are interested in ages, it is your responsibility to ask. Some of our animals are ethically imported, we therefore cannot guarantee their ages.
What is your refund policy?
Before going to a show, we health check every animal to make certain they are suitable for sale. We will provide you with the best information and help we can, so that you can provide the correct environment and diet. Therefore, animals are bought at your risk.
