Caelorrhina kolbei 1st - 2nd Instar x 5
First Generation from Wild caught imports
Occassionally we have wild caught pairs avaialbale to us which provides an opportunity to bring new species into captivity or to help strengthen exisitng cultures with some fresh bloodlines.
These larvae are feeding well and growing fast.
Adults feed well on ripe fruit and beetle jelly.
Larvae are feeding on decayed oak and beech mulch and are being housed comunally with no issues arising. Although, as this is a new species, substrate changes should be done more frequently to keep an eye on this as there is little info available online about them at the moment. I suspect though that they are simple to keep like many other fruit beetle species and everyhting we have observed seems to suggest that is the case.
Adult size; 30 - 40mm
Life cycle: At the moment we cant say for sure as this is a species that is new to us but I suspect given the size of the adults that it would be 12 months from egg to adult.
Adults live for up to 6 months.
